Christina Barbarousi is a regional scientist and development planner. She is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the School of Economics and Political Sciences of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She holds a PhD in Regional Development from the Department of Planning and Regional Development of the School of Engineering of the University of Thessaly (Greece). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Local Administration from the School of Management and Economics of the Higher Technological Educational Institute of the Peloponnese and a Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the Department of Politics and Governance of the School of Law of the University of Nicosia. She is specialized in regional development, planning and policy, planning and budgeting for the public sector, public economics and policy and public management. She speaks English and Italian language. Her postdoctoral research deals with the bargaining process in regional development as the first alternative equilibrium model for regions and peripheries. She serves at the Directorate A for State Pensions Abroad at the Electronic National Social Security Fund of the Hellenic Republic. She is certified professional in technical sector, environment and energy, specialized in disaster and crisis management. She is a member of the educational staff at the Hellenic Open University. She is a peer reviewer for international scientific journals and conferences and has contributed to expert advisory work for the Hellenic Parliament. She is a Board Member and Special Secretary of Regional Policy of the Hellenic Chamber of Administrative Scientists.
